Crewsadors & Tranmere first up

East Coast Futsal will travel to Manchester on the 2nd October to play newly promoted Crewsadors in the first FA Futsal National league game of the 2011/12 Futsal Season.

Crewsadors beat Team Northumbria 6 v 5 in the playoff game after being 1 v 5 down at one point!

East Coast then take on Tranmere Victoria on the 16th October in the teams first home game. This promises to be an enthralling encounter after the 10 v 7 scoreline in the league las season and then unbelieveable 1 v 1 draw in the FA Futsal Cup.

East Coast Humbled by Victoria

Tranmere Victoria hit 18 past a young Easy Coast team.  It was a devastating second half performance which saw 13 goals scored.

The result finished 2 v 18 with only Stuart Wallace and Ryan Hunter scoring for the hosts.  It was a humbling experience for the East Coast team playing in their first ever home game in the National Futsal league.

East Coast Mananger, Steve Brennan has urged his team to become “more determined in defence” and also “learn quickly from the defeat”.

But no-body in the arena could have foreseen the 18 as the half time score was 0 v 5 to Tranmere.  It was a credit to Tranmere for their attacking display and discipline and it shows Coast what level is required in the league.

Next up is a must win game for Coast against a Liverpool team that also suffered a heavy defeat, 22 v 3 against Sheffield.

All set for big kick off!

East Coast Futsal Club areset for the biggest game in the clubs short history.  On Sunday 21st November the club travel to Middlesbrough to play their first ever national league game.

The clubs first training session took place April 2009 and having already toured Ireland & Italy the team now embark on a new era, in the top division of English Futsal.

It is a fitting match as it was Damon Shaw, Middlesbrough’s Chairmen and Manager who helped pave the way for the club to start and his help was instrumental to the speed in which the team has set up.

It is a fitting first that we play Middlesbrough, the same place we played our first friendly game back in July 2009.

Apart from Josh Christlow, recovering from a chipped bone in his ankle, the team is at full strength and are anticipating a tough match.

The players are looking forward to the challenge this season, with goals being to learn from each team we play and improve as a team and individually as players.

Anyone wanting to travel to watch – Thornaby Pavilion, TS17 9EW 13.30pm kick off – £1 entry

East Coast Futsal Club

It is great for the club and the local area and really something we can all be proud to be a part of.  The strides the club has made in just over 18 months has been astounding.

It will be great for all the youngsters that play Futsal in the area to look upto and aim for in the future.

East Coast take on Middlesbrough at Thornaby Pavilion 21/11/10 in their opening fixture of the 2010/11 league.

That seems very fitting as it was Boro manger, Damon Shaw, who has helped the club greatly and it was agaisnt his team we played our first ever game.
